The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is taking a new step to bring more transparency to controversial positions and Video Assistant Referee (VAR) conversations during football matches.
VAR conversations will be broadcast after matches
The tests of this system, which is modeled on a successful model in Spain’s La Liga, have started by the TFF. In La Liga, VAR calls are broadcast immediately after the matches. In the same way, TFF will broadcast VAR conversations in the Super League.
This will be done in order to ensure transparency and to prevent fans from fighting among themselves after the matches about the decisions taken at critical moments in the matches and raising reactions to the authorized institutions.
The fact that the International Football Association Board (IFAB) has authorized the broadcast of VAR conversations at the moment the referee is called supports the efforts in this direction.
Along with this transparency move by the TFF, another important change is planned in the structure of the Central Referee Board (MHK). The TFF has taken the decision to change the structure of the Central Referee Board, which it has been working on for a long time and in consultation with the Clubs’ Association.
According to the plans, the new MHK will consist of 5 members. 3 of these members will be appointed by the TFF, while the other 2 members will be selected from the names proposed and agreed upon by the Club Association.
